Opportunity to name new Golden Eagle chick

Opportunity to name new Golden Eagle chick as South of Scotland Enterprise attends South agricultural shows

Our team is excited to be attending two of the South of Scotland’s popular agricultural shows this year.

We will be at the Border Union Show, held at Springwood Park in Kelso on Friday 29 and Saturday 30 July, and Dumfries Agricultural Show, held at Park Farm on Saturday 6 August.

Attendance at both shows give businesses and the public the chance to speak to the team and gives a further opportunity to showcase what we do for the region.

Golden Eagle chick name competition

As well as being able to talk to our team members, attendees of the shows will also be given the exciting opportunity to name the Golden Eagle chick who is set to arrive in the South of Scotland this summer.

The team have recently provided support for the South of Scotland Golden Eagle Project and have been given the once in a lifetime opportunity to name one of the chicks being translocated to the region.

Simply visit the SOSE stand at one of the summer shows and ask the team how you can enter.

We will work with people and businesses in communities right across the South of Scotland with the goal of growing its economy by providing expertise, mentoring and investment.

We focus on the wellbeing of our communities, environment and economy across the South of Scotland.

Book a slot to speak to our team

Attendees are encouraged to book a slot to chat to SOSE staff members to ensure the team can dedicate time to enquiries, though people are also encouraged to simply pop by the stand to find out more about us.

Professor Russel Griggs, Chair

“It is important to us to consistently find new ways to engage with those in our local communities, and we are sure that attending the very popular agricultural shows this summer will allow us to make valuable connections with individuals, groups and businesses within the region.

“We have always said we are here to listen, so we encourage people to register their interest in chatting to our team members.

“However, we would also love to see attendees visit us on the day as they make their way round the show fields.”

Jane Morrison-Ross, Chief Executive

“We encourage everyone to come along to say hello to us at the Border Union Show and the Dumfries Show.

“We want to hear from everyone about anything relating to the South of Scotland.  That includes hearing your naming suggestions for the South of Scotland’s new Golden Eagle chick.”
