25 March 2026 is the last day that bookings can be made for Hawick Business Centre with South of Scotland Enterprise.
We have been leasing Hawick Business Centre from its owner Scottish Borders Council since April 2024 thanks to UK Shared Prosperity Funding.
However, this arrangement finishes on 31 March 2026, when the UK Shared Prosperity Funding ends.
The Council is currently exploring options for the Centre.

SOSE and SBC are both committed to continuing to work together to support the businesses and community groups of Hawick, and the Scottish Borders.
While not a replacement for the Business Centre, the new Borderlands Deep Tech Accelerator Hub in Hawick will offer access to new and exciting technology for Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) and entrepreneurs in Hawick and across the South of Scotland.
However, the new Hub will not be available for short-term, working spaces and small bookable rooms as the Business Centre currently is.
Facilities in the Centre include:
- Short-term, working spaces and small bookable meeting rooms with modern video conference facilities for businesses as well as the wider community to use
- Presentation space and a digital lab to provide users with advanced facilities such as podcast recording studio, live streaming and virtual reality headsets

A look inside the business centre
Partners & Funding
The Scottish Government provided £2.6million for the build of the Centre. The plans for the centre were developed in 2017 by Scottish Government, Scottish Borders Council and local businesses and community groups, on the back of the Hawick Action Plan.
SOSE has provided £175,000 to help furnish and fit out the building.
The UK Government Shared Prosperity Fund provided £123,000 for this project. The Shared Prosperity Fund forms part of the UK Government's Levelling Up agenda and aims to improve pride in local places and increase life chances across the UK by investing in communities and local businesses and by developing people and skills.
Scottish Borders Council have led on the Hawick Business Centre project.
Business Gateway Scottish Borders will work alongside SOSE to provide regular enterprise sessions.
